Product Details

Many hazmat employees specialize in one of the three main modes of transportation for dangerous goods - ground, vessel, or air - and they are required by federal and international regulations to undergo training in the regulations that apply to the respective mode of transportation with which they are involved. Specific employment opportunities, however, give employees responsibilities that overlap with more than one means of transportation. Working in more than one process often means having to follow more than one set of regulations, and certainly means having to undergo training in more than one mode.

Hazmat University understands this and provides options for multimodal training, both initial and recurrent, that provides employees the training they need. The multimodal ground and vessel training combines the respective individual training for each mode of transport, meaning it is essentially the same as if one undergoes ground and vessel training separately, but the multimodal option packages both of them at a lower price. This multimodal approach offers all the same training required of hazmat employees involved in both the ground and vessel transportation processes, for a lower price.

This course provides the required initial training to participants involved with the shipping of dangerous goods by ground and by vessel. Training for shipping hazardous materials by ground was developed based upon the requirements outlined in Title 49 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR). The training for shipping dangerous goods by vessel is based on the requirements outlined in 49 CFR and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code.

If you have undergone initial training in the past, you may instead qualify for our online recurrent training.
