For IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations 65th Edition

Anyone whose position involves handling, shipping or transporting hazardous materials/dangerous goods which may have a direct or indirect impact in the transportation of such, is required by federal and international regulations to undergo online IATA certification training. While this is true for all hazmat employees involved in any mode of transportation, training in the regulations of domestic and international air transport is vital. The regulations for shipping dangerous goods by air are particularly stringent, as a hazardous materials incident occurring in the air can potentially develop into a far more serious incident than one being transported by ground or vessel.

In an effort to prevent incidents from taking place, hazmat employees involved in the air shipping process must comply with strict regulations for the classification, identification, packing, marking and labeling, documentation, placarding, and segregation of dangerous goods. This much needed knowledge can be attained via online IATA certification courses.  They must also know which types of dangerous goods are outright forbidden from being transported on an aircraft or only allowed under certain conditions and in certain quantities. The International Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR) for shipping provide guidance on how to achieve all of this in a manner that complies with the regulations and prevents incidents from occurring.

Hazmat University’s IATA (ICAO) Air Training provides required initial or recurrent online IATA certification training to participants involved with the shipping, handling, and/or transport dangerous goods by air. IATA (ICAO) Air Training is based on the requirements outlined in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR), International Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR) and the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Technical Instructions. Employees who have undergone initial or recurrent in-person or online IATA certification training in the past are required by law to undergo recurrent training at least once every two years in accordance with the international regulations and every three years according to 49 CFR.

Included in this course at no additional cost are General Awareness and Security Awareness.
