Learn More About Multimodal Online Training

There are several employment opportunities that may require a hazmat employee to be involved in more than one type of transportation process. If, for example, a hazmat employee is involved in the handling and offering of hazardous materials for transportation by ground, and that same employee has the additional responsibility of assisting in the handling of the hazardous materials to be shipped on an aircraft, they must know the regulations for both air and ground transport. This would require the employee to undergo training for both modes of transport.

With our multimodal online hazmat training courses, hazmat employees can undergo multimodal online hazmat training for any combination of our main modal training programs: IATA (ICAO) Shipping by Air, 49 CFR (DOT) Shipping by Ground, and IMDG (IMO) Shipping by Vessel. This includes taking all three courses at once.

Our online multimodal hazmat training options also cover all functional areas of training prescribed by the regulations. This means they provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding proper classification, identification, packing, marking and labeling, documentation, and placarding, as well as safety and emergency response information.

Selecting an online multimodal hazmat training course which combines the requirements of the multiple transportation modes of your choice provides you not only with the same content as you would receive by taking the individual modal courses, but also with significant savings of time and cost when compared to completing the modal courses individually.

If you are involved in the handling, shipping, and/or transport of lithium batteries, it is highly recommended that you also purchase our Supplemental Lithium Batteries Training, in conjunction with your multimodal online hazmat training course, which is available in this store. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure their employees are trained commensurate with their responsibilities, which may necessitate additional training.

Note: It is recommended that you have the appropriate regulatory manuals on hand when taking a multimodal course.  You will find a list of regulatory manuals in the course details.  For further information, please call our office at (844) 532-7634.
