Product Details

Depending on the nature of their employment, certain hazmat employees have duties and responsibilities involving more than one mode of transportation. When these responsibilities involve transportation of hazardous materials by both air and ground, employers must provide their employees with Limited Quantity hazmat training in the applicable modes of transportation before those employees can begin performing their duties and working with the hazardous materials / dangerous goods in any capacity.

In an effort to prevent incidents and accidents from occurring, hazmat employees involved in the vessel transport process must comply with strict Limited Quantity hazmat regulations for the classification, identification, packing, marking and labeling, documentation, placarding, and segregation of hazardous materials. They must know which types of dangerous goods are outright forbidden from being transported, and those that are only allowed under certain conditions and in certain amounts.

Hazmat University provides Limited Quantity hazmat online training for each mode of transportation respectively and combined. For employers and employees involved in the transportation of hazardous materials in Limited Quantities by more than one mode, we also provide online multimodal options, including multimodal air and ground training. The modules from the separate Limited Quantity hazmat courses for air and ground training are combined to provide a comprehensive training program for air and ground, and at a lower cost than if you purchase the courses separately. If your dangerous goods responsibilities encompass both air and ground transportation of Limited Quantities, you can successfully complete the required IATA and 49 CFR training with our online multimodal option.

This course provides the required initial or recurrent Limited Quantity hazmat training to participants involved with the shipping, handling, and/or transport of dangerous goods in Limited Quantities by air and by ground. Transport of Limited Quantities by Air and Ground training is based on the current requirements outlined in the ICAO Technical Instructions, as contained in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR), as authorized by Title 49 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR). This Limited Quantity hazmat training for shipping hazardous materials by ground incorporates the current requirements as outlined in 49 CFR. This Limited Quantity hazmat course complies with the initial and/or recurrent training requirements of 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H, Section 172.704 and the IATA DGR for transportation of Limited Quantities by Ground and by Air.

Included in this course at no additional cost are General Awareness and Security Awareness.

Employees who have undergone initial or recurrent training in the past are required by law to undergo recurrent training at least once every two years for air, in accordance with the international air regulations, and at least every three years for ground according to 49 CFR.
