Product Details

Depending on the nature of their employment, certain hazmat employees have duties and responsibilities involving more than one mode of transportation. When these responsibilities involve transportation of hazardous materials by both air and vessel in limited quantities, employers must provide their employees with limited quantities hazmat training in the applicable modes of transportation before those employees can begin performing their duties and working with the hazardous materials / dangerous goods in any capacity.

In an effort to prevent incidents and accidents from occurring, hazmat employees involved in the air and vessel transport process must comply with strict regulations for the classification, identification, packing, marking and labeling, documentation, placarding, and segregation of hazardous materials. They must know which types of dangerous goods are outright forbidden from being transported, and those that are only allowed under certain conditions and in certain amounts to qualify for the limited quantities exception.

Hazmat University provides online limited quantities hazmat training for each mode of transportation respectively and combined. For employers and employees involved in the transportation of hazardous materials in limited quantities by more than one mode, we also provide online multimodal options, including multimodal limited quantities air and vessel training. The modules from the separate Limited Quantities courses for air and vessel training are combined to provide a comprehensive training program for air and vessel, and at a lower cost than if you purchase the courses separately. If your dangerous goods responsibilities encompass both air and vessel transportation of Limited Quantities, you can successfully complete the required IATA and IMDG limited quantities hazmat training with our online multimodal option.

This course provides the required initial or recurrent limited quantities hazmat training to participants involved with the shipping, handling, and/or transport of dangerous goods in Limited Quantities by air and by vessel. Dangerous goods by air training is based on the current requirements outlined in the ICAO Technical Instructions, as contained in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR), as authorized by Title 49 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR). Training for shipping dangerous goods by vessel incorporates the current requirements as outlined in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code), as authorized by Title 49 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR). This course complies with the initial and/or recurrent training requirements of 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H, Section 172.704, the IATA DGR and the IMDG Code for transportation of Limited Quantities by air and by vessel.
